Dioctyl phthalate (DOP)

DOP is a general-purpose plasticizer, a slightly odorous, transparent, oily liquid, and one of the most widely used plasticizers. It has good overall properties, high plasticizing efficiency, low volatility, good low-temperature flexibility, good electrical insulation and water resistance, and good compatibility with materials such as polyvinyl chloride, nitrocellulose, and some rubbers.

Dioctyl phthalate is widely used in the processing of PVC and various soft plastic products, such as films, artificial leather, wires and cables, and molded products; it is also widely used in the rubber, coatings, and emulsifier industries, where it can improve the resilience of products, reduce compression set, and does not affect the vulcanization of rubber materials.
